John Purcell is one of the gaming industry’s leading experts. Based in Ireland, John is a Certified Management Consultant with over 20 years of providing professional services in advanced gaming technology, multi- jurisdictional gaming regulations and an unparalleled knowledge of operational management excellence in gaming, lottery and casino businesses worldwide.
John has worked with some of the largest manufacturers, developers, vendors and operators of gaming facilities, primarily in Europe and North America, both online and offline.
Kent Tong is a strategic thinker with an exceptional attention to detail that epitomises the ‘can do’ attitude of eQube.
Since joining the company in 1999 as VP of IT, Kent has lead the development of eQube’s world class product suite and successful installations throughout North America. Kent’s real world experience of technology and business accrued over many years inside and outside the gaming industry are the invaluable assets helping lead the eQube team globally. Kent has a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Management of Information Systems from the University of Calgary.
Mr. Kahn has extensive capital markets, and mergers and acquisition advisory experience, gained as an investment banker with Morgan Stanley Canada, TD Securities and Kensington Capital Partners. Mr. Kahn has also served as a director of a Capital Pool Company and a private financial services company and has hands-on experience providing strategic and financial consulting services to early stage public companies. Mr. Kahn earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University in 1991 and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario in 1995.
Andrew Janko is an entrepreneur and investor for over 30 years. Mr. Janko owned and operated a private RV and auto sales and service company.
Mr. Janko is also a successful venture capitalist investor who is also the principal owner of shopping malls, oil & gas service companies and gaming corporations.
Robb McNaughton has been a partner in the Securities and Capital Markets Group at the law firm Borden Ladner Gervais LLP since July 2013. From March 2010 to July 2013, Mr. McNaughton was a partner in the corporate finance group at the law firm Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP. Previously to this, Mr. McNaughton was a lawyer and partner with Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP (currently Dentons LLP). Mr. McNaughton worked from September 2002 to November 2003 as the Vice-President of Strategy and Corporate Operations at Assante Corporation, which was a financial services company formerly listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Mr. McNaughton graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in 1991. In 2000, Mr. McNaughton received a Bachelor of Laws degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Western Ontario’s Faculty of Law and Richard Ivey School of Business.
Mr. Murray is a Director, Ardenton Capital Corp.* Previously, Mr. Murray was a Managing Director in investment banking where he had a 20-year career at a number of firms including National Bank Financial, Versant Partners, Raymond James Ltd., and AltaCorp Capital. His transaction experience has ranged from venture stage to large capitalization companies in a broad range of sectors including: aerospace, agriculture, business services, consumer products, engineering and construction, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, technology, transportation and waste management. Mr. Murray earned a MBA from McGill University in 1995 and received the Chartered Financial Analyst
designation in 1997.
Douglas Osrow is the Chief Financial Officer of Remark Media, Inc. (“Remark”). Remark is a global digital media company focusing on the 18-year-old to 34-year-old. Remark owns and operates digital media properties, such as websites and applications for mobile devices, that provide unique dynamic media experiences in multiple content verticals. Prior to this, Mr. Osrow served as the Chief Financial Officer of Paragon Gaming Corporation, where he was responsible for re-financing several of the properties and negotiating buy-outs and partnerships. Mr. Osrow has an extensive background in capital markets, deal execution, valuations, research and a network of corporate relationships in the real estate, gaming and lodging sector. Mr. Osrow earned an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and an MBA from The Kellogg School of Management.
James Varanese is a lawyer and investor with over 20 years experience in mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Varanese has a Bachelor of Science from Harvard, a Masters of Policy from the Kennedy School of Government, and a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard.
